I have exhausted myself trying to set up private resources, a new feature of Pangolin, within my network. I can't get the DNS aliases to resolve. I can't get responses to my pings. It's overall a bit of a mess. The feature is in beta, so I can't complain too much about the lack of documentation and troubleshooting details. I'm seeking assistance on the lovely Pangolin discord as we speak.
Other than that, I finally have my routine backups running automatically again. I use Kopia for backing up homelab data and other import folders to my Filen account. Filen is underrated in the cloud provider space imo. I can run a webdav server for my E2EE cloud provider? Heck yeah. Storage is also priced well. But back to kopia. I was running the server in a docker container on each host because it could handle its own scheduling, but the servers took up precious system resources just idling. I'd rather run the program when I need it too and use systemd timers, which I've learned are like the cool younger sibling of cron. But also not. I will feel much better once my backups don't rely on me remembering them any more.
